Default Max Tire

Does anyone know if you can put a wider rear tire on a stock 96 F3 rim and if so how wide can you go? Stock tire size is 160/60ZR-17 Thanks...

Dont listen to these fools that tell you not to do it. Its your ****ing bike, do what you want. You can rock a 180 all day with no problems (other then the hugger not fitting), just dont do a track day with it. Bottom line, thread over.

Why people want to put a 180 on I will never know, have you not seen previous posts about how it changes the profile of the tyre i.e. the amount of rubber touching the tarmac is not consistent if you put a fatter tyre on a rim that is not designed for it! Yeah he can do it but I am sure it will have a negative effect on the handling of his bike.

Ok, so you just posted basically the samething I just did. The 180 will not affect him on the street unless he intends on dragging knee. Why people keep ****ting on a 180 tire, I will never know.

DDCAVI is ignorant to me calling us fools. Noone likes to be called a fool, or anything else for that matter. So get your act together please. And since you are the only one who likes riding on wrong tires puts u in minority. Even for street use 180 are ****. And why would you sacrifice your handeling and getting rid of the fender is beyond my mind. Unless you can those tires for free no point in using them. end of story.

LOL. I have a 170 in the back. It turns in beautifully, and if I were a good rider, I could easily drag knee. I have absolutley no traction problems at full throttle or in a lean. I really don't think a 180 would be significantly worse - maybe alittle slower on turn-ins, but it would not prevent you from dragging knee. By the way, my 170 is as close to my chain as I, personally, would like to get.

big difference between 170 & 180. you might not notice170 comparing to 160. but 180...common.
