How do you bleed the front and rear master cylinders on these bikes? I have a 96.
No matter how many times i've bled the front lines and gotten clear liquid i'm still getting "soggy" pressure. The rear is TOTALLY dead no matter how many times I bleed it.
So yeah. Master cylinders?

RE: Master Cylinders
I had a dead rear, so much so that I could stand up on it and the bike would barely slow down from 5mph. I drained the fluid completely and cleaned the lines. Then I took the calyper apart, removed the cylinders (one was practically stuck) and cleaned all the crap out of there. Put it back together and filled with new fluid, bled the line (be patiend when bleeding after flushing/refilling, it will take some time for the pressure to build) and now I can lock the rear with the slightest pressure.

It takes a little bit to get all the air out especially if you drained all the old fluid 1st. Just make sure when you bleed them, the fluid level in the reservoir dosn't go to the bottom. Also, move your brake pedal very slow (or you'll have fluid all over the place) to build up some pressure when you're bleeding. With 2 people it's easier. When you lift up on the brake, the valve at the caliper should be closed. Open it very slightly and push the pedal down slowly (watch the fluid level) and close the valve before the pedal bottoms out. Do this until you don't have any more air coming out. When you don't have any more air coming out, you can open the valve very slightly and slowly push the pedal down. As soon as the pedal starts to move close the valve quickly and you'll feel pressure in the pedal. Replace the cap on the reservoir and you should be good to go.

Yes i'm no stranger to bleeding brakes on a motorcycle. I've installed front and rear stainless steel lines on my R6 and the pressure at times was almost enough to highside me. But this CBR is nucking futs...fl;sdjfs;dlfjk!
I will try bleeding the rear again and see if I can get some pressure but I honestly doubt that is the problem.
So no one knows how to bleed the MC's?
