To drain the coolant, how do I do that? can i just remove the bottle or what?
You drain it through the drain plug on the water pump.

Thanks my F3 will start to run hot if I have been on it for a while then I am idling at a light. The thermostat will climb some. Not enough that it indicates that it is overheating but enough to grab my attention. So I want to flush out all my old fluid and add new.

MisterB, it sounds like your radiator fan might not be coming on. Most likely cause of that would be a blown fuse.

my bike gets hot at a light then the fan kicks on and the gauge stays constant..maybe cooling a little bit but not much...

this is normal for our bikes, just verify your fan is on when it climbs that high, you should be able to see it, and look down through the forks, or side vent to see it.
