Default maaco paint

i want to get my bike repainted and figure even just being in a proper booth will net a better result than spraying outside since i don't have a garage. i know the basic stigma of maaco is that they suck, but overspray shouldn't be a problem if i bring everything in off the bike, doing all the prep myself will bring the price down a lot, so all they need to do is lay paint.

granted right now my bike is just rattle-canned black so pretty much anything is an improvement, is the quality of maaco's paint terrible? will they clear everything? anybody have experience with maaco for their bike?

From a car perspective, you can get good results if you do a really good job prepping the parts and you're willing to do some color sanding.

I don't know if they can properly paint plastics, it requires plastic adhesive in the paint and it also needs to be temp resistant, if it's not it'll just bubble and ripple on you as soon as it heats up.
