My D&D rebuild didn't go so well. First of all I watched a few Youtube videos on how to replace the packing. Drill out the rivets and slide off the end cap to get to the core and packing material. Not so fast, I do this only to find out that both ends of the mesh core were tach welded to the end caps. Therefore, I ended up having to shorten my pipe about 2 inches, making the pipe louder than I want even with the new packing.
I can't stand the noise and I don't want any unnecessary attention from law enforcement.

 

I have a Micron and love it, its nice and quiet until you ring it's neck i think it has a nice balance of silence and being obnoxious haha

 

OP-If you've got an OEM F2 exhaust, I'll trade you, provided you pay for shipping and 50 bucks cash on your end, and you'll have yourself a nice shiny D&D that's loud as fu** and doesn't have any dent or anything on it. lol

 

I drilled out the rivets on the muffler and i have been trying to pry away with a flat head shoving it in between the two pieces but the damn outside cover wont come off. I also sprayed a crapload of pbblaster and no luck. How do you get the cover off?

 

I got it apart, you have to bang the crap out of the end piece with a malet. There is a crapload of packing in there tat was all black, I took it out poped the exhaust back on and its WAY too loud lol. So what kind of packing do I get does it matter? or can i get the ceap 5$ stuff of ebay? Im only going to put half as much packing that was in there because it was too quiet. Stainless steel or fiberglass?

Well i ripped the hell out of it when I was pulling it out, plus its all black and shot anyways. Packing is pretty cheap on ebay I just dont know what kind to get

you must definately have the street pack D&D then...i have the race pack and its PERFECT.!...its loud but its a good loud....no pop in it..i love it...wouldnt trade it for any other one...and yes you can hear it above everybody else..!

 

if you want a loud exhaust then an art can with no packing and stubbie will make it loud well over 105 decibels only problem is that it will pop when the throttle is dropped off over 10k revs but a big flame is a nice party trick now and then
