Have you checked the 30A main fuse?, located on the left side of the bike (you can spot it through the left side cover). Don't make the mistake of pulling out the spare & thinking its ok. The fuse is actually in the block & you have to separate the top off to get to it.

will a test light illuminate across the batt terminals? does the test light illuminate on one pin of the fuse? i would grab a light, test across the battery then start moving down the batt power wire testing for voltage until you find were you do and do not have power. dont forget to check your grounds, put test light on power side of batt, it will illuminate if your on a good ground wire. maybe possible ignition issue where the bike it not recognizing key on engine off and is stuck at key off engine off... just an idea...

got fuel flow to the carbs? got spark? plugs in good shape? good fuel?

also, if the bike lights up, but isnt firing, its more than likely either the starter, or its possible the electrical problem caused might have fried your ecu.
