Loss Of Power

RE: Loss Of Power
Man, I don't know what to think sometimes.
THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY HOME THIS MORNING! I don't know what the deal is.
This time the CCT didn't make any noise obviously, but the sputtering as if I was out of gas, and then the only gear I can actually get consistent accelration in is 1st. It blew the fuses just like last time. What the hell could this be?
Tail light and front/rear turn signals are all gone. Headlight works fine - which is strange because they're all on the same fuse. It's the 15amp fuse that keeps blowing. What in the world could this be? I've looked the manual over, and it doesn't mention anything like this.
Sudden sputtering + blowing fuses = ???
Oh, and it's ran perfectly since changing the plugs - gonna change the plug wires next weekend but I don't that will solve my problem.

RE: Loss Of Power
I changed the 15A fuse, and the sputtering disappeared. Hasn't blown yet, but if it does, I can almost guarantee the sputtering will return, so I'm trying to determine what could cause this.
I was wrong about the headlight, it's controlled on a 10A fuse. For the 15A, there is; Turn Signal, Front/Rear Brake, Horn, Meter, Tail.
I'm certain about everything but the, "meter." What the hell is that? It doesn't say anywhere, I've tried to look. Is it a voltage meter? Whatever it is, I'm certain it's what's causing my problems. I just can't connect it with the loss of power until I know what the heck it's referring to.
Anyone know?

RE: Loss Of Power
Checked your rectifier? I'm guessing, but given nothing else is working I reckon you should slip another one in there and see if that fixes your problem. They are prone to crapping out on the F3. I had fueling issues on mine like it would suddenly start coughing like it was out of gas and couldnt figure it out for ages. Eventually replaced the rectifier and all problems went away.

RE: Loss Of Power
I would also lean towards an electrical issue. Thats the only way you lose power and blow **** up. Lack of gas wont blow fuses, will run ****ty, but not blow fuses. Probly running out of spark. Again with the rectifier. If you cam chain slipped, it could theoretically hurt the valves when they hit the piston, just FYI for the future, you dont want that breaking. I agree, check the rectifier and see what's up. Im not real good with the electrical part of a bike, or a volt meter, but if you are, check it. Good luck, keep us posted.

RE: Loss Of Power
Well, I honestly don't know.
I'm being told that it isn't the rectifier in another thread. I haven't used my turn signals in a week because I'm wondering if they are related to the problem.
I haven't blown a fuse in a week. I'm going to start checking wires and connections later this week when the bike is stripped for painting.
