Was driving along yesterday on my bike and all of a sudden all power was lost. My bike is 1998 I put new battery in the other day drove it for bout an hour wit lights on and battery was drained have been told reg/rec possibly has gone charged battery up again was only going on short ride so took it out a run was driving along and rhe bike just cut out now I have no electics whatsoever have checked fuses including 30a in line fuse all seem fine

Any ideas wat could of happened

 

Yep, its the reg, same scenario with my 98. If the new battery drained in an hour, then its really RS. You can have the voltage checked to make sure, but....
Have it replaced with a non OEM reg. Go for either the GSX that a few have done or go heavy duty replacement, either way you won't have to worry about it again.
Also check the reg to make sure it has not burned out any wiring as it it went crispy.

 

Checked reg it is all cracked on the outside so take it that is reason for no power to all electrics is this right.is there anything that would of caused this or r they known to go just

 

Should o still have dash lights wit it disconnected ????

 

Sorted silly me I checked the spare online 30a fuse which was fine but when I investigated more I seen the main fuse was blown. Reg also needs replaced
