Default Loose spark plug wire

Hey,
This morning when I started my CBR I could hear a clanking sound. Turns out the inner boot on the plug wire is loose.

Can anyone tell me how to tighten it?

Thanks.

Push down and twist back and forth. You will start to hear it click onto the plug depend on how far is off the plug.

Thanks for the replay. I pushed down as hard as I could and I am not able to make it click. Could it be that the plug is loose?

if you hear a clanking sound..it might be the air rushing past the plug during ignition because it may be loose...take the boot off and try to tighten the plug up. Make sure you didnt melt the spark plug boot from that fire comin throuth the hole

That is exactly what I was thinkin Redz! There is no way those rubber plug caps can make a clanking sound... but the plug can.

Thanks for the help everyone!

I took out the boot and yea the spark plug is not tight. What kinda tool do I need to tighten it? It's in pretty deep, so I don't think a normal spark plug wrench would work.

If you leave the tank on you will need the following tools..... Normal spark plug wrench a stubby Ratchet a short extension..... and last you will need a magnet .......

Stubby wrench spark plug socket magnetic washer and short extension .

Hi Iconpunisher,

Please take a moment and pop over to the new member area to introduce yourself to the forum.
Where are you from, how long have you been on two wheels, what bikes do you have etc.
We also love pictures.

Good information, but just a heads up, but you have just responded to a thread that is 13 years old!!

Cheers
