Thought so, not sure why but i bet those style fit better as you said vs the 98 f3 moldings



Well thats what i was worried about at first.. But so far they doing just fine. I live in Indiana and right now temps round 80's. Even with our bikes running hott, i really want to see what happens when the temps get up to mid 90's.... But to answer there is no warping or melting and i have not put any heat reflector on.

 

I have a set of 98 f3 Smokin' Joe's put on my bike. My friend actually bought them and installed them for me. They have been on for about 3 months now and fitment was perfect EXCEPT! for the 3piece tail section. I was not there for the install but he said when he installed it, it did not align at all so we rattle canned the original Joe's tail and it still looks great! no problems.

NO WARPING OR MELTING AT ALL!!
Really wished the tail would fit right tho.

He emailed them to tell them about the problems and they said to take pictures and send them to see how the issue could be resolved (like sending pictures would resolve anything) Too bad my friend left for Iraq a few weeks ago and now I can't do anything since I didnt purchase them.. Either way its like a new toy for me.. AND I actually spent no money on them at all..
