Jeez-Louise...
Since I got my bike I've had an "issue" with the turn signals.
I replaced the front crap flushmounts with some more visable and better looking ones, no problems there. Then I get to the rear...
Apparently, the idiot who decided to install some aftermarket rear signals either couldn't read a manual, or couldn't be bothered to at least use a voltage meter or some sort.
The rear signals he bought were 3-wire. F3's aren't 3-wire. So, in all his ignorance, instead of noticing a difference and raising questions, he connects all 3 wires... the power wire and ground were in the right place... but the jackass connected the aftermarket signals marker-wire to the license plate lamp power and ground - he did this for both right and left. So when I finally tear into the rear harness, I see this crappy looking excuse for a wire job and realize the fool has all kinds of ignorance going on.
Long story short, I re-routed the wires properly, leaving the license plate lamp wires since there isn't a lamp. Now when I turn my signals on, instead of blinking on and off, they dim out - the when I turn the signal off, they fade back on. Also, the right is brighter than the left.
So what, shot relay? Rectifier? I'm at a loss. All fuses are good, so I'm guessing it has to have a relay somewhere that was burned up though I'm not sure where it is, or if it is even called a relay.
Any ideas? Help a botha out.
P.S. Just changed chain and sprockets, adjusted the clutch - WOOT! Like a brand new bike!

this may seem like a silly question but anyways , i am having a prob with my tail lights to . cause one light on the left is always on solid if i turn it on it flash so does the right side they both work fine for signaling but the left side is always on when the signals are not in use . it does not blink just solid . my question is are they both sopposed to be solid of both off until i use them ? and what could be the problem
If I was you I'd make dead sure that it isn't a wiring problem because to get to that relay you have to strip of the top fairing, which means you have to strip of everything
From what I understand you have the same type of indicators at the back as the stock front ones (they blink and work as parking lights)
Using the wrong watts globes can also effect your turning signal relay. You say that the one is brighter then the other one which could mean that you have the wires swapped around on the one indicator (parking instead of indicator)
The circuit is quite simple so if you're sure the wiring and globes re correct, I agree it must be the relay unit.

I've stripped my bike down so many times it's crazy... I will double check the rear wiring but I know that I wired it following the manual and all the wires from thatr point are where they should be and they are the right colors. Hmm... I'll check. I'll check the power measurements of the new bulbs - but they came in a kit so they should at least match each other, I'm assuming.
Anyone know of a cheap relay for an F3 for sale?

I have weird problem also. My right blinkers blink faster than the left. Or the left slower, but whatever. Anyone know what may cause this? I thought maybe someone put different bulbs in, but they all look the same. I was thinking about changing them all and then seeing whats up. Maybe one is about to go and has more resistance than another making it blink slower????

If you have aftermarket signals installed, they proabably have them wired wrong. Mine did that at first, but I got 'em right after messing around with them. That's apparently when I started having some other issues going on and then this crap.
I'd check your wiring and make any corrections you need.
