Thats what I did I chopped off the stock fender and just ripped out the stock signals and re-wired them. But the previous owner did this mod I just cleaned up the wires alot (connected them better, electrical tape etc). Im not sure how he did it there are alot of wires going into a little black thing im guessing thats the resistor?

fender went bye-bye thanks to spicy for the inspiration with his ghetto modding. mine is in fact even more ghetto yet turned out pretty good somehow. i did not have any metal to use as a bracket, so i just fashioned the wires in the same bolt you used but under the washer and above the rubber grommet and it holds in there real nice lol. then came the cutting of all the plastic and thats where i am now. pretty satisfied.
