Default Inside look at what the CCT is doing

I've been seeing a lot of CCT questions on here lately and I just happened to be in that area of my bike this last weekend. While fixing an oil leak, I took a couple of pics so that others can see exactly what the CCT is doing. It is pushing on a cam chain guide which in turn puts tension in the cam chain. Of course, there is the factory set it and forget it (until the marble is set loose when cold) or the manual tensioner. Both tensioners perform the same function though.

Good post! Definitely helps to visualize how the CCT is interacting with cam chain, especially when manually adjusting it.

Another thing that you can see in the photo's is that the crankshaft rotates clockwise as viewed from this end. With that in mind, the crankshaft is always pulling on the right side of the chain and providing slack on the left side. That's what the tensioner does, it takes up all the slack and keeps it moving smoothly up to the intake camshaft. Good photos. Nice job.
