Idle rpm

Default Idle rpm

Just wondering what people's IDLE RPMs are. Right now Im running at about 1600. What do you guys recommend?

Also Im running a little Rich, How do I go about adjusting that...?

On mine I was told 500-1000 when idle. Seems to work well. Don't have enough experience to help you with the fuel.

i dont have gauges anymore but im idling at around 1300 - 1500.

mine was around 1600 to get a stable idle. once i synced the carbs, i now have it down to about 1300 and smooth. the manual suggests 1400 i think

Idle Speed, 49 State and Canada: 1,200 ±100 rpm
California type: 1,400 ±100 rpm

If it's running rich, then the jets need to be replaced. The bikes normally run rich from the factory because it's safer for the engine to run rich than lean.

Aright, I'll turn the idle screw down a little, I like it higher but it sounds like low is the way to go. thanks guys.
