i have run michelin roads, and road 2s on my f3. i was able to get about 12k on a set. i do a lot of cummuting as well. I have also run metzler z6 road techs. got about the same milage. the road 2 cost the most but the dual compound was nice for cornering. even took those to the track once and they did great. i just put a set of conti road attacks. i have about 300 miles so far. reviews have been great. only time will tell.

I agree with willduce on this one. From everything I read I am going with the Shinko Raven 009's from here after reading all the reviews:

Just put a Battlax 021 on the rear. I have used Dunlop 205's and 220's up until now. Dunlop prices have gotten too high for me.

I run Metzler Sport Tec M3s on my F3. They are made out of a pretty hard compound and they should last quite a while. They arent quite as sticky as my old Pirellis but they still have been excellent tires for me. They corner well and i havent had any problems with wet weather (though i dont ride much in the rain)

Shinko 005s front and rear about a month old. Seem to be wearing just fine. I'm in the city so the only 'twisties' are city blocks. I can tell I can ask a lot more from the tires in turns. But people are so used to seeing people barely leaning on turns, I've already gotten a few comments on my style (didn't realize I was doing anything special)

I'd try a Dunlop D205 Sport touring. I've got it on my F3 SJR and its a great tire for commuting.
