Start it, from a cold start. Not letting them warm it up before you get there. (MOST 90% of sellers do this to make it start easier or to eliminate any weird thing it needs to start cold). If possible, take it for a ride and get into all the gears, put a load on them and make sure they dont pop out of gear. (low RPM, alot of throttle) Check for fork seal leaks (puddle under the forks if they are bad or just a drip on the fork leg) Check all lights and signals. Horn (small, but often over looked) Overall cleanliness is a good indicator of it's life. ( you can judge a bike by its cover) Look in under the plasic at the engine for any oil/grease spots for potential leaks. Good luck.
