Help Removing gauges

Default Help Removing gauges

hello everyone new here, just got my f3 last year, this year im stripping it, well i got the new demon headlight and now have to remove the old giant gauges, well i did and now when i get to about 12mph or to second gear the bikes just bogs to eventually shutting down till below 12mph, i know its the gauges since i put them back on and it runs fine. i was wondering how to eliminate the gauges any help would be appreciated

Shuts down at 12 mph? Sounds like the air solenoid at the airbox isn't switching to the ram duct. Which, if you removed the speedo, it won't do as it's tied to the speedo.

hey slight detour, when going to f4i gauges will this be necessary or will the solenoid work properly with the f4i gauges?

It'll work properly to my knowledge. I haven't read anyone mentioning bogging out past 12 mph after converting. And while it may not happen at exactly 12 mph, it'll prolly kick in eventually (depending on the condition / jetting of the carbs).

12 mph is exactly where the manual states the solenoid is supposed to switch air sources.

Sorry for the late reply, Been busy havnt been able to try this, but i did and it worked! Very easy too! Bike sounds meaner now on low rpm, Thank you!

No worries. Mine wasn't dying at 12 mph. But it was definitely dying cause of a lack of air.

Easy diagnosis when you're helpful enough to tell us the gauges are missing
