Question help my sore and swollen hands....

ive been riding for about 3 weeks now. my middle finger on my left hand hurts pretty good and both my thumbs seem swollen. and the grips that i have on it now suck bad. they are not meant to be for casual riding. i found some progrip 719's that id really like to try out with some ebay bar ends on the bike. will they both fit flush? any suggestions? d3 grips? opinions wanted. the reason i posted this was because i wanted to know how these fit on the f3 and to see what the other f3 members have on their bikes.

thx in advance

Brandon

I'm running with the OEM grips. Haven't had an issue with them so I've never looked into anything else.

loosen your grip, use your core (stomach n back) and legs to support your weight n not your arms. You should be able to flop your arms like a chicken n it not upset the bike. If it upsets the bike your are gripping and/or putting to much weight on your arms

I agree. loosen up. My hands hurt at first too as I was used to cruisers and not the lean of a sport bike. Once you get used to the grip and feel, it'll get better. As Playful said, don't support your body with your arms. No win.

I'll bet you do grip too hard n use your arms to hold yourself up

Good grips are nice too, but wont solve your problem

I changed my grips last week, for bigger one. My problem was not pain (I know the arm pains I've got is because of a bad position) but with the previous grip, my fingers would go numb after 10 minutes.

The new one are a bit bigger, and now I can ride for 2 hours straight before having that numb sensation.
I too come from a cruiser/chopper background, and being with quite some pounds over the limit, I needed some times to find a correct position to ride.

Try it, it does a lot of difference.
I just spent 5 days biking in the Alps, and I needed some time before finding the correct position for me.
As said previously, you should be able to "flap" your arms without your bike going sideways.
Lean back!

Get these: http://www.hvmp.com/honda.htm

HVMP Bar Ends - they're heavier than regular bar ends, look cool (brushed aluminum) and have all but completely removed any buzz from the bars.
