Getting sore neck from my 2001 F4I
I just bought a 2001 Honda CBR 600 F4I a couple of days ago. I love it except I get a sore neck and upper shoulders after about 25-30 minutes of riding.
I'm fairly new to riding (3 months) and had a 89 CBR 600 for a few months prior to this without much discomfort.
Is there anything I can do with my F4I? I do have a relatively inflexible neck and shoulder area but I am hoping there is something I can do.
Thanks!

try to feel loose on that thing. the thing about being loose you really are in better control of the bike that way anyway, when your body is too stiff the bike can't move from side to side very easy and if the bike can't because your holding it back there more of a chance for tire sliping.i don't know if it can be proven but I do know that if you ride a dirt bike too stiff bad things happen, so i guess i have always thought it to be true on street bikes as well.once you get use to the bike i think all that pain will go away, but i have to say i rode my friends aprilia the other day and my back was sore for a week.

I'm 6 1, 180 pounds
It's certainly possible that my riding style needs some work seeing as how I'm fairly new. I sit snug to the tank as that feels most comfortable. Not sure about how far I am reaching.. Do I have a choice??
I'll give it a couple of weeks and see if it improves. I hope it does.
Is it possible to adjust the stock handle bars at all?

You are only a inch taller than I am.
I would say it's your riding style. Even when I had my stock seat I could do 6 hours plus. My *** would be sore and I would be a litte stiff.
When you are on the bike you should be able to wiggle your elbows. You should also be able to let go of the bars without changing your weight distribution. If you are putting weight on the bars, then you need to work on your core strength. Crunches and back extensions will help A LOT!!!
You wouldn't believe how much better I ride when I am back on my lifting program.
