Well I can say this, place a test light in the circuit of the battery. Disconnect the negative, Clip the light to the bike and the other side to the battery. If the light is lit, you have an electrical short in the system somewhere. This means that you have some hunting to do. Best of luck. Start by looking at obvious wires that may be shorted together.

after a ride, check voltage at battery terminals with bike off, should be12.3 volts or higher. with mine thats a year old it will be around 12.7 sitting volts and might be 12.5 the next morning; next morning check battery again at terminals and if it has less than 12.3 volts with bike off then it sounds like you need a new battery. thats just my experiance though.
also google "dans motorcycle charging system/ battery test procedure" and online there is a chart that tells you what volt range should be for batteries that are brand new, good "in use" and what volts to expect when the battery is dead.
