Going back to the 160 series tires
When I brought my Shinkos tires I opt for the 180's, thought the looked big than the 160 when installed, but not. Compare them ot my wife bike, which still have the 180's on and they look the same in width.
Also the 160's have more tire contact than the 180's which is probably another reason they wore out faster.
This morning ride to work was better on the 160's felt more stable than the 180's.
An by the way look better on the rim too, than the bulky 180.

Congrats man! I replaced mine with a 180 the first time to match what was on the bike when I bought it. Then I learned that the 160 was the stock size and thats what I threw on there this year and it's like day and night in cornering diffrence.

before i sold my bike i removed the rear fender/mudguard and just bought n alum chainguard off ebay for like 40 bucks well worth it made the rear end look much better . something about that big ugly mudguard covering half the tire i did not like .
I actually like the mud guard, make the rear look less empty. I got it painted along with the rest of the bike which I will be posting pictures this weekend.
totally agree- i could not rail on my 180 AT ALL!!! to damn much tire for the bike. so this winter I'm slipping the 160 back on for sure! I'm happy for the most part with the SHinko's but still not to sure about them since the 180 kinda screwed up my riding season...I'll test them out for sure next year
I had a 180 on my bike when I got it. Then I went to a PP race take off 160 and it made a huge difference. And then when I put a normal Pilot Power 160 on the rear it was beautiful. I got it 5miles from Deal's Gap in the rain and it handled like a dream.
F 180s!!! I could understand if you live in flat land areas but living 3hours from the Gap and 1 and 1/2 hours away from some awesome twisties (Plus most roads around me are curves) I love the 160s.
The real test was when I let my buddy ride my bike and he kept telling me my bike was pushing bad. After I got the 160 he rode it and was stumped. He kept asking me what I did with the suspension and I'm telling him absolutely nothing.

you going to Dales tomorrow?And a 160 is fine for the bikes that came with em like yours etc. A 180 is great on my bike
but it was made to have a 180 tho.Thread
