I just did my 900rr sensor swap the other day and it works great with the F4 swap you're doing. I took the tank bolts out and put a real small piece of 2x4 under it to hold it up and out of the way (so I didn't have to remove the fuel line again (long story)). Anyway, pull off the sensor wire with some needle nose, very carefully, at the ruber boot. If you have a 1/8 drive long socket then just pull it out with an extension. If not... slide a small (1/8 inch drive) socket (I forget the exact size) over the sensor. Use a 1/8 inch drive extension and ratchet and put it in as far as you can into the socket. It won't go all the way in due to the sensor sticking up. But you should be able to break the sensor loose. Then use a small flat screwdriver and push the socket up into the entension so the socket just grabs the sensor and it'll come right out. Might need some needle nose to pull it out once you get it unthreaded. That's how I did it and it went fairly smooth. Took me about 10-15 minutes is all. Funny thing is, the new sensor looks EXACTLY like the one you're gonna pull out. So don't mix 'em up. Hope this helps.

Yep 12mm. and do just as Moosenuckle did. F that carb removal crap!! My snap-on 12mm is 1/4 longer than my craftsman 12mm so mine went right on and i had no problems getting it loose. I would have a magnet handy to help get it wiggled out. I think i used a 1/4 universal and a 3" extension and it went smooth like butter
