How do you change the bulbs on the gauges?!? i can't seem to find how to take out the instrument panel without taking off the front fairings!! Your help is greatly appreciated.

 

As far as I know you'll have to take the fairings off (which means the whole lot as rear side need to come off before main side fairings, which need to come off before front uppper fairing (the knee bone is connected to the.....))!

Honda - great build quality but a pain the in the *** at times!

 

As said before, you have to remove ALL the fairings to replace gauge bulbs. Replacing the bulbs is simple... getting to them is easier said then done.

 

Part of the fun though! I still haven't taken out the instrument panel, which I need to do. Thanks for this helpful tip about the fairings, I'd have been taking all sorts of stuff apart before I figured that out.

 

undo the bolts retaining the gauge cluster and kinda wiggle it out...what i did and i got access to the backside and such

 

pull the screws holding the inner fairing panels under the mirrors. then take off mirrors. there are 3 bolts holding the gauge cluster, 2 above gauges and 1 below, 8mm. the guage bulbs just pull out.
