Default fuel tank breather tube and drain tube, do they connect to anything?

Im in the process of changing my fuel filter and when I took off the fuel tank the breather and the drain tube came with it. they didnt seem to be attached to anything else other than the tank. looking around the manul im almost sure they just dangle off of the tank down towards the ground, but i need someone to confirm that so i dont have a nutty.

thanks!

from what I can see on mine, the 2 metal nipples attach to 2 hoses that run down to nothing

thanks, i just needed a sanity check, that is how they are supposed to be. on some bikes the breather tube connects to the airbox.

i used a universal fuel filter from advanced auto, its larger in diameter than the stock fuel filter.
should it be completely full of gas when running?
its about 1/4 when running, i havent taken it out for a spin yet b/c its about to rain here.
