Fuel supply problem?
i was riding home from work today and all was well, then my bike quickly seemed to kill itself and immediately came back to life with a loud backfire. since then, it will run fine, until i accelerate too much, it seems to choke itself out. in neutral, it only seems to want to rev to about 7k rpm. it will backfire while doing so, too. what could this be?
I also just noticed, my lights will brighten just above idle and up until around 7k, then my lights dim out alot. the bike revs up to 7k just as fast as it should, too. [sm=dontgetit.gif]

seems like an electrical problem, but I'm not too sure. Maybe do a search on here for R/R problems, I think someone had a problem like this and thats where others had lead him to look. Good luck
Either a Rectifier or a fuel pump issue. Does the problem exist with a full tank? I'm currently having similar issues and have chased down a worn out fuel pump, but the problem still exists. I replaced the rectifier last year with a stock honda used part. It may be going bad as well.
