Ok so I think I have pretty much narrowed down my starting issue to a fuel pump or fuel cut relay. My question is how common is it for the fuel pump to go out on the F3's? The relay is 65 bucks which isn't bad but I would hate to spend that on a relay that I don't need and be out I'm out the 65 bucks that could have went to a pump. Suggestions???

 

You could hook the pump directly to your battery with a jumper wire and see if it pumps. I'm sure there is a way to test it..Do you have the repair manual? If not I would buy one. I did download a digital version off of a torrent site about a year ago....Keep us posted...If I have time I might dig out my Clymer and look it up...Good Luck, dont get discouraged and keep us posted...

 

Went through some testing last night and confirmed...relay is bad! Cheap and easy fix for my $600 steal! New sprocket and chain and I'll be good to go!

 

you might want to order a new set of contacts for that fuel pump. Mine died on me last summer when i was 2 hours from my house at 11pm.... that sucked. Better be safe than sorry tho its only a 30 dollar part. Search the forum for fuel pump repair one of the members here has a great tutorial.
