Default Fuel pump dump

My pump works in the sense that it moves the solenoid back and forth, but as it's working, fuel fills up and drains out of the back where the points are. Anyone run into this problem before? I was told that it was done and I needed a new one but surely there is some kind of simple solution to this. Fuel is currently being gravity fed from the tank, and it works ok most of the time. Off-idle throttle response and midrange are iffy, and if I stay in it too long, or ride into the wind, it will run all the fuel out of the carbs and the bike will die. Which is especially annoying on the highway... I need so much other stuff for this bike I can't afford all of it, so I'm trying to find cheaper solutions to some of the issues I have, this being one of them.

right on, do you remember what model car it came from? If not I'll just poke around and see what I can find.

I put this one on my bike it works fine. Afew of us went through this a few months ago. There is a "how to" on it somewhere. Pump works fine, is a little larger then OEM, but its about $150 cheaper than a new OEM one. Hope this helps....

just wanted to update, I got one of these pumps, and it works perfectly. Spliced the wires, re-fitted the hoses to match the size of the in/outlets on the pump (slightly smaller than stock) and wow! It doesn't get any better than this. I was concerned about buying a used pump for this bike for reliability reasons, and now I don't have to worry. Thanks reddog!

So I've always ran without a pump. If I drop 50 bucks will I notice any difference?

If your bike runs fine right now, then no. But for peace of mind, I like to have it on there.
