I decided to bite the bullet and rebuild it. CO law doesn't require me to salvage title it due to age and I'll stand to still make some money from it.

I ordered some Hong Kong Fairings-- I work with abs plastic all day at work and have plenty of experience modifying it. I chose the repsol replicas for my bike and went with the 95/96 style (= no grab bar holes, tail light swap or new seat required). Also ordered carbon fiber (look) levers, bar ends, pegs, mirrors, tank pad and gas cover and a carbon two brothers M2 slip on. Planning on putting the frame and swing arm in black. But can't decide between paint or truck bed liner. I'm not interested in powder coating it since that bumps the cost way up. Any ideas or opinions are appreciated!

I'll take plenty of pictures and post them throughout the battle. End price including buy-back should land around 1400. Wish me Luck! lol

 

oh, I'll be throwing the OEM fairings and good parts up in the sale section tonight or tomorrow morning as-well. =)

 

be careful about hong kong ones man
mine were labled just as you described, but came with 97/98 tail

 

The pictures showed the 95/96 tail. I found one $30 cheaper but it showed the 97/98 tail. If it shows up different paypal will refund me. =)
