Here are a few pics as to what i did to remove the factory tail











i traced out the rear plastics about a 1/4" higher than the plastics, removed the license plate light, drilled 2 holes for the license plate to be mounted right underneath the tail light and so that the plactics have to be placed after the plate is mounted

ya the beer can is a nice touch, i also like the person bustin' out "the shocker"!

 

Im guessing that the rear chip (above right of taillight) is a common problem mine did the same I used fiberglass and body filler to fix it. Bike looks great I like the bear can as well.
