Default f4i headlight on f3.

hey everyone i have a 96 f3 and i did a f4i body swap including f4i cluster and 600 rr tail. im basicaly done with the bike other than paint.

my question is. how do i wire the f4i headlight to my f3 harness??
wondering if its possible to have both beams on at the same time as well not the just a low beam and a high beam.
is there a write up anyone knows about?

You need a H4 HID kit like this

You don't "need" the hid kit but it's really cool if you do.
I'm guess you're talking about how to change the single outlet to the dual bulb setup. The easiest way is to hit up Kragen auto or any other auto parts store and pick up a couple of H7 sockets (and some bulbs if you're not going to do the cool HID conversion.)

Now for the wiring:
If you look at your original socket on your f3 you're going to see 3 wires; blue, white and green.

When you're wiring up your new sockets here's how you're gonna wanna do it.
1. combine the grounds from your new sockets and connect them to the green wire (it's easier if you cut the harness off, please don't try to fit a spade adapter in the plug, it will melt on you.
2. connect the power wire from your new low beam to the White wire
3. connect the power wire from your new high beam to the blue wire.
done.

I've done a few of these conversion and can tell you the HID conversion looks cool.
Hope this helps.

Warning DO NOT GET H7 sockets. The H7 bulbs actually plugs into a black adapter and the H7 plugs wont fit. Get some H4 plugs

I've done this swap a couple times and it was an H7 but for some reason these other guys seem to think it's an H4. I would trust the person who's done the swap a couple times and the dealer and go H7. You have to be careful with forums, every once in a while people will reply with information on what they've heard or read from someone else with bad information. I can honestly say, I've done this swap and it's an H7.

You can always take the headlight into kragen or where ever and ask if you can plug the sockets in. That's what I did the first time, that's how I found my H7 sockets.

Does this only get one side working? Could I buy two and combine the wires from each plug and fuse together with the original?
