Happy Holidays everyone.

One of the things that I wish that the F3 had was a seat that you could easily take off.. heck even my Ninja 250 had that.. but I do love the F3s overall (still debating between the F3 and the F4 btw)

In my travels around the Internet I came across a place (of person, who knows) called "M.D.Wright" which more than likely seems to be the owner's name... The site name is flashalert.com that apparently sells a flashing brake light kit.

I just sent an email to them, but the posts I have found through searching this site show electronic solenoids, and yet on their site they state that "features a quick release seat and locks with your ignition key". I would rather have some kind of mechanical lock than electronic solenoids that might have issues...

Has anyone used them recently? Any installation pics? Would you recommend this mod or not? I have a tailbag for commuting to work, but I would like to store simple tools under the seat..

theres a guy who had one installed i think....jaleen maybe...i remember looking at them online somewhere but they were pretty expensive

 

The kit with the seat off there at the link looks like the targa kit which I believe is discontinued at this point.

I'm assuming that is one and the same, but I've heard bad things about the quality of the actuators and I'm pretty sure I read it on here. Do a search on here, you should find some more info on it.

 

Yeah I believe that the targa kit is discontinued... from the description of using a key, I was hoping perhaps that they redesigned it for use without solenoids... oh well.. hopefully I get a response from them to clarify.

 

I think the Targa had solenoids... I'm not sure, I've only ever read of it and never seen the setup myself.

 

thanks.. weird how targa stopped selling it.. oh well.. I'd love to devise something for it.. there has to be a better way to get the seat off.. surprised that Honda kept it like that for so long....

 

search youtube for f3 seat release. there was a guy on here that made a manual one with 2 allen wrenches and some springs and such and put the vid on youtube. pretty trick! no welding required.
