I have an F2 that came with racer fairings that I have to put on. The manufacturer, Airtech Streamlining, states that an F3 windscreen and seat are required for the install of the fairing kit. The windscreen is not the problem at this point. I bought an "F3" seat off of Fleabay and it is exactly the same seat as my '91 F2 seat. Exactly. The problem is that the F2 seat won't slip into/under the tail section as is required to give it the solo seat look. The F2 seat is too wide.

My question is: At what point does the F3 start using the narrower seat? The seat I got has "F3" and "96" in paint pen on the bottom of it. Does/can an F3 have the same seat as my F2? And if so, what year do I need to get the narrower seat? OR, did this guy send me the wrong seat? (hoping for the last so I can send it back and get my money back)

This really hacks me off, I paid $79 for the same exact seat I already have. AND I still need an "F3" or whatever seat. HELP!

 

I think you may need the 97-98 seat.

hi, yeah airtech has nice stuff but tends to leave out the fact that us normal people who want the "racer" look, dont have loads over spare parts everywhere to fit on our bikes lol. i hope you do end up getting the seat you need. i have a race tail from them that i adore now that the cbrf peeps on here helped me learn how to do a custom FE
