Glad you were able to use it! There is tons of great information tucked away here. Sometimes you just have to dig a little to find the right thing.

Hey Hamlin et al.

Please forgive my ignorance... I have the F3 1998.. although my tail is a little more curvy than this boxy'er one, are they essentially identical except for this manual wise?

Long story short im looking at a carb issue (PO used wood screws to hold it together, half the seals and gaskets were missing, and jets all unmarked and different sizes... it ran ok though) ive brought another carb which has all the correct fittings, but im sure one of my cylinders is running lean.rich im not sure how to tell from the sound...

im getting a little confused by the whole 49 state, California and Canada types, im from the UK and the bike apparently is not an import. so im a little confused

I just want to set the screws back to factory and then hopefully tweak it from there, or is this a bad no-no idea?

I realize this is just the thread for the manual, which you would not believe how grateful i am that you've shared it!!

if you could just answer the part about whether this is the manual for me to look at ill take the rest to a correctly titled and probably existing thread.

Many thanks and appreciation in advanced for your wisdom.

Your 1998 F3 has the FW UK designation and is the last of the steel framed CBR6's, which would be largely similar to the 'US 49 State / Canada' version. The California version had some additional environmental add ons.

Wood screws eh? That’s a new one on me. I’d be interested in seeing that.

if you follow the 49 state instructions you should be all @Al1040 stated.
