Default F3 into double light

Is there a reason why I can't split my headlight wires and run a second bulb harness So I can have 2 bulb sockets. Only problem I see is maybe I'd have to use a bigger fuse. Would it fry my headlight relay. What is a relay lol
I'm almost done with a 600rr conversion from my F3 and I don't like that I run the 1 bulb into the left light ......don't mind if it's dimmer with two just that they both light. It looks broken and I just put a bunch into making it nice for the summer

you should be able to wire one light to the low beam, and the other to the high, then just tie the ground wires together.

the other light is aimed differently, it's a high beam. wire it by putting the high beam signal from the switch and a ground. then ride with your high beam on.

Default thanks

so ur saying that 1 would b less bright than the other 1 by doing that? im looking at the light plug now and it has 3 wires 1high 1low 1ground Can i take the 3 wires / split em all and run 2 light plugs from the 3 wires
My Question :
I I I I I I
\/ \/ \/
I I I

So just to make this post informative
id take the high beam wire from the first harness
connect it to the high beam of the secone harness
then connect the ground from the second harness and splice it in with the ground wire from the first harness

okay the other plug is comming tuesday couldnt skill it and get it friday
i cant wait to post pics and do a write up on the conversion, and thanks again

yes, i think you got it.

you have a three prong bulb now. high, low, and ground. (2 bulbs in 1)
the rr has 2, 2 prong bulbs. low, ground / high, ground

simply put the ground to each and run the low wire to the low bulb, and the high to the high bulb.

Negative, I've done the RR headlight swap on my F3 and you will run into a few problems (personal preference) with that set up.

Issue: The normally on headlight (low beam) turns OFF (loses power) when you switch the Highbeam on. So instead of the highbeam turning on with the low beam, they just switch.

Here's where it can get complicated depending on which wiring choice you make.

Choice A) Both headlights on all the time, no highbeam switching:
With this method, simply wire each positive wire from the RR headlight to the LOWBEAM positive from the F3, then tie all grounds together. (also with this method you could turn off your headlights completely by "turning on" the highbeams, if you ever needed that function )

Choice B) use previously stated wiring procedure and end up with low beam or high beam only.

Choice C) Wire them in such a way that the low beam and high beam both function properly, meaning the low beam stays on with you turn on the high beam:

Here is where it can get complicated. I originally wired mine like this (assume all grounds [negatives] are wired together at the same point):
F3 highbeam to RR highbeam

F3 highbeam to RR low beam with an inline diode allowing power to flow from F3 harness to RR lowbeam.

F3 lowbeam to RR lowbeam with an inline diode allowing power to flow from F3 harness to RR lowbeam.

*Diodes are designed for directional power flow, meaning power will only flow through them in one direction. Adding them inline with the positive from the F3 low/high beam allows "constant" power to go to the low beam whenthe power is switched off by engaging the highbeams. With out the diodes the circuit would simply mimic choice one.

Now for the complicated part lol. My low beam was an HID kit powered by the normal lighting system. with the addition of the RR's third eye, when ever i turned on the highbeams the HID bulb would turn off and dim the LED I had in the third eye to half power. The lighting circuit didn't have enough power to spread to all the components.

If you are planning on using an HID kit for one or both lights, the F3's lighting system simple won't have enough power as both lights are only getting power from the one highbeam wire.

To solve my problem I just hard wired the normally on (lowbeam)of the RR headlight to the F3's ignotion switch with an inline fuse. The only issue is i got lazy and didn't rewire the third eye to both circuits so it turns off when i turn on the Highbeam.

I hope that helps and if you have an question or need pics/wiring diagram just ask.
