Default F3 info please

im lookin at adding to the fleet a f3 and have noticed that tail sections vary a bit. how many years did the f3 go? the one im lookin at is not wrecked at all , runs good ,but has the most hideous lookin paint job, lookin at gettin it for 1800 bucks. whats the f3 like compared to a f2. I ride a 900rr and have had a f2 . I loved my f2 and want another 600 to flick around. i hear mixed reviews of the f3, is this because of the fuel injected F4i being the newer model? just wanted to hear some opinions on this bike. thanks

The 95-96 have the box shape tail and the 97-98 have more of a curve to them. The 97-98 have alittle more power, different jetted carbs. Check to see what size the rear tire is. Some people will put 180 when the stock is 160. A 180 will fit but your turning will suffer alittle. Brakes discs are bigger but the same caliper setup compared to the F2. F3 has access panels on the side fairings. Little better front forks.

My F3 is my track bike and soon to be fully setup for WERA next year. I have no problem keeping up with the F4i on the track. Saying that, if the track has a very long front straight they get me. But I'm able to make it back up in the corners.

The F3 is a great bike. In my opinion Honda should have made an F4 1 or 2 years sooner. I got the old mags & read em all the time. The ZX-6r was kickin' a$$ at the time. Honda was the last to get aluminum frame. Of course then in 99 the R6 came out and that changed everything. I think of the F3 as a highly refined F2

The F3 is an F2 with two VERY important upgrades: The fuel pump (which really only gets heavy use at high speeds or if the bike is jetted), and the Direct Air Induction system ("Ram Air"). The performance difference between the two is VERY significant. There were other minor changes as well, but the DAI is really what did it. I ****ing love my F3, the only thing I don't like is the general nuances of a carbureted bike.

Be sure to tell her how much you appreciate it if you find it helpful, she put a lot of work into it.

yea the main difference is the Direct Air Induction. Its pretty interesting how it works, and if you take your gas tank and air filter off you can actually see how it works, its pretty cool. This is my first 600 and if you can basically steal it like i did you will love it.....

This is a fact. I was thinking of doing similar vids myself, but I ride at night, so the camera doesn't really pick up the beauty of what I'm seeing.
