Default F3 Info

Anyone give me the F3 rundown. I had to sell my 929 last year and am ready to get another. Springtime is killin' me. So I found an F3, 96, and potentially agreed on 1500$. All the plastics & tank have been halfassed bodyworked. The stator cover is cracked and needs replaced. Otherwise the bike looked pretty decent for being in pcs. 21,000 miles and dude run it up against a retaining wall on the left side(you got me how that happened). The fairings that were too far gone have been bought and he added in a clear tail lens. No battery--no start up to check out, said he never ran it after the accident. Anything I should be concerned about, normal problems with the F3, ideas, input. I have never had a carbed bike and woud like to set it up too be pretty quick out of the hole. It did have a V&H slip on but couldn't tell if it was a whole system. After looking at the pages of pics I sure like the sleeker *** end on these bikes, what are you all using? Any input and info on F3's appreiciated....THX

I've had my 97 F3 since I bought it in 98. I love it. I just had a total aftermarket body kit sent to me so I can switch to all gloss black.

Depending on how long he had it sit, you might need a carb kit, because of clogging. I just had mine done last year, after letting it sit too long with a buddy that was "fixing" some stuff for me. Fixing for him was letting it sit... LOL!
