Default F3 engine in an F2 chassis problem

Racebike issue:

I have an F2 with an F3 motor ,carbs and airbox,no fuel pump.Everything else is F2 (tank, petcock, harness)The bike is shutting offbefore the end of long straights.DoI need a fuel pump,an F3harnessfor the fuel pump,or an F3 petcock? No guessing please, and any /all help is greatly appreciated.

How do I test a fuel pump? Do they go bad often,or as often as regulator rectifiers?

I run my F3 without a fuel pump. So I doubt its that. Do you have a vacuum line going to the petcock to open the diaphram? Do you have all the emmissions equipment for the F3 motor? Pinched clogged or miss conected lines will cause issues.
I have a 94 F2 and a 95 F3 and they have alot of differences.

I failed to mention here that this is a racebike. The bike shuts off in long straights (RRR)while wide open in6th gear at approx 145 mph and comes back on after I've slowed considerably. As long as there is no long straight, the bike runs like a dog shot in the *ss.Until the long straight.

Yes I have the tube running from the #1 cylinder to the petcock. No problems there.

No emisions equip. Not needed in Georgia.

Plugs are textbook perfect.Nice and toasty brown.Iridiums are the way to go.

I also have an F2 streetbike, and yeah there are many differences between the two. Many similarities also.

I've researched and resarched and looked at official shop wiring diagramsand made about 5 million phone calls to fellow racers who currently race these and used to race these back in the day.The opinion is unanimous,it needs a fuel pump.

Nowhow do I wire it? I don't know squat about wiring.

Ah see now your problem becomes clear. The fuel pump only plays an important role when you get up around 150. You can get a used one on EBAY for around $20 and remember to get the relay.

Yep.3 people had their hands on this bike before I took it out,and none of them told me that it would need a pump. Sheesh

I had a 20 bike length lead when it happened.[:@]
