Default F3 with 1000rr bodywork mod

Sometime back I was looking at new bodywork for the season. Even put up a thread to get what you guys thought. https://cbrforum.com/forum/cbr-600f3...dywork-121612/

I went with the 08-11 CBR1000rr front race bodywork. Now the tail looks to be a cross from a CBR1000rr and CBR600rr. First thing I work on was the tail. Well because that was going to be the easy part.

I cut off the stock mounting locations for the ecm, fuel relay, rectifier, and lower tail mounts.

Cut off the subframe that would stick out past the tail.

Made a tray to hold the special race battery (left). The ecm and rectifier is set below the frame tubes (center). You can barely see the fuel relay under the rear tank mount (right). You can also see the mounts for the race tail.

So here's what the tail looks like.

On to the front fairings. The lower needed some trimming just about everywhere. Seeing as it not made for an F3 understandable.

You can the 3 brackets I made for the lower and upper. I love working with aluminum. Just one problem. When using alumaweld sticks, it gets really hot when you have only 5". I dropped it because it was hot. But darn reflexes tried catching it. HOT HOT HOT

Used the stock upper stay from the F3. The upper tab were bent from my last crash. So I just cut them off, along with some other things.

I don't have anymore pics of the bodywork on the bike. I took it all back off so I can prep for paint.

Damn, I was that good with my knot ability. It looks like a great way of fitting your fairings.

Cheap and easy. Get the fairings to sit the way you want them. Without having to back brackets, only to trash them because it doesn't sit right.

Harbor Freight has .44 lbs packages for $12 or Napa 1 lbs for $20. Seeing as the live in Canada you may want to try a local welding supply store. Its easy to work with once you get the hang of it. You don't heat the sticks but the parts you want to weld. The sticks start flowing at about 700 degree F.
