To start it all off, About 3 weeks ago, my ignition gave out of me. It is currently stuck on the 'On' position, which gives the full power to my lights, dash, etc, and theres no way of turning it off. (I've since ordered a new one.) However, instead of being smart, and just unplugging the battery, I let it just sit there, with the lights/everything on, and the battery being drained.

Now, before I say this next part, I know it's wrong and I shouldn't do it, but I did it anyways. The only way I can get my bike to turn on, have any sign of electrical output is to connect it to my car's battery through cables (the car is off). The absolute second I remove the cables, the bike goes fully 100% dead.

Even if I turn the bike over using the cables, and get the bike running, and let it sit, sipping off of my car's battery for a bit, right when i remove the cables, it dies instantly. It seems as though the Stator or Regulator is going bad, but I don't know which one? Could it be a fuse though, or something else i'm over looking, thanks in advance!

 

There is a troubleshooting section for this is the manual. It should give you the resistance ratings of a good stator and R/R. Go pick up a multimeter and follow it through to diagnose which one it is

 

Charge the battery with a real charger. Then test it, replace as necessary. Then the bike should run and you can test the charging system output and see if there is a problem.

If your going to own a bike and don't plan on taking it to a shop every time there is an issue, invest in a DVOM and a battery charger or tender. You can get them pretty cheap if you look around. Auto zone, pep boys, home depot, harbor freight, and places like that all carry cheap ones. I got my charger at costco... works great the few times I needed it (mostly for everyone else).

 

If your battery is dead, like no charge at all, your bike won't run. The bike doesn't generate enough current and voltage at idle to keep the bike running. It has to be above about 3000 RPM before it creates enough power. Hooking to your car battery isn't going to cause any problem for you at all.
