i have deeply been looking into fuel issues. it may be time to pull the carbs and see what the hell the previous owner put in for jets. i do not smell fuel while it is idling and like i said before the bike will sit there and idle perfect for 45 minutes or longer if i want it to. and this bike does not have a fuel filter on it. already looked into that. i have the bike set to idle at 1600 rpms. thats where the manual wants it and thats where i idle mine

ok so for an update. i fired the bike up after sitting all night. bike fired right up with no issue. i mixed in about 3 ounces of GM fuel system cleaner with a full tank of gas. i use the stuff alot at work and its some pretty potent stuff. i was suspicious of dirty carbs etc etc.rode the bike around cold with no real issues except it would slightly cut out in high 2nd or 3rd gear. around 8000 rpms. but it would still run. did the same thing warm but not as much. rode the bike for a few miles with no issues. so hopefully this is the start of a fading issue. such as horrid dirty carbs. lets cross our fingers and pray.i will keep u guys further updated. thanks for the help

well if it's dirty carbs you can use seafoam, just not too much as it can make **** worse (1/4 of the bottle max) it'll clean it out, not sure if better/worse than GM Fuel SC but I don't use anything that's branded GM :P

Sounds like the tank vent to me. Next time it dies, open the fuel tank, then start (if you have another key. If it starts right up, you have a plugged vent.
