Cold Compression Values
Does anyone know what are acceptable cold compression values?
I have an old trackday F3 that I got cheap and I'm sorting out. Unfortunately I pulled the carbs off before doing a compression check then noticed the manual gives a warm value. I'm getting 100 psi across all 4 cylinders cold. I dropped some oil in 1 cylinder and it made no difference. The bike is reputed to have done about 15,000 miles but had been standing a couple of years. It smokes a little when warm. I was hoping it's just valve seals which sometimes go hard with lack of use. I have no idea if it's had a hard or easy life but the engine is like a sewing machine - very quiet. It was an abandoned trackday project so it has possibly never been on a track yet.
