Clutch Wont Engage I Need Help
Background
I purchased my 1996 cbr600 f3 a couple months ago for cheap with a "clutch issue". When i bought the bike the clutch lever had no tension at all and after later inspecting the clutch unit i noticed that there was parts missing like the lifter pin, the lifter plate, the springs, etc. So i ordered oem Honda lifter rods, both a and b. I ordered a clutch basket assembly off of eBay that was in good condition.
The Issues
I installed the clutch packs and everything like the manual instructed me to do. When i got to the part of tightening the spring bolts down the manual just says tighten to 9 ft lbs. I dont have anything that goes that low so instead of just straight out guessing i tighten the bolts in a sequence untill the lifter plate was flush with the "fingers" on the clutch basket. After i put the clutch cover back on with everything installed i hooked up the cable and BAM i had nice tension in the clutch lever. So i fire the bike up and expect to roll out but as i let out on the clutch, the bike does not move a inch. Which confirms that the clutch is not engaging. Now i know i installed everything correct(maybe i have the spring bolts too tight or not tight enough?) and im thinking its a small engagement issue. So i play around with the lower adjuster closer to the clutch assembly and the clutch lever feels good but still no action. Is my problem with the clutch lifter plate being in to far or not far enough out? Can anyone help me? Please
