choke

Default choke

hello everyone the choke on my F3 is very hard to pull past half way like it's sticking on something.
i've removed the airbox and sprayed release oil on it but it's no better can anyone help please.

does the slide bar look bent

If you disconnect the choke cable from the carbs, can you move the slide bar by hand with no trouble ?

yes the slide bar can be moved easy one finger and it springs back as well to where it should.

I would say that the choke cable is binding or coroded, they make oilers just for cables that seal the opening of the sheath so oil is forced in. but you are half way there if it is moving as well as you say. you may want to use a real good spray oil that has a catalizer in it to eat rust like PB BLASTER. PB will also "creep" or walk up an object sprayed. also use gravity to you advantage oil the top end of the sheath while working the cable this will carry oil down the cable quicker. Also check to be sure that the cable doesnt have any hard bends that are binding it also....

Mine only pulls out like a centimeter and works fine but I always was wondering how to fix it but its not been giving me probs so why f with it.

If your cable needs to be replaced I think they're fairly cheap on Ebay

HAHA mine was froze up and pulled on it hard and out it pops. Good stuff had I not looked at this thread I prolly would of left it alone but curiosity got the best of me.
