Default Center Stand Question

I'm considering installing a center stand on my '98 600 F3. It didn't come with one from the factor, but the holes and mounting points are there.
Are there any pluses or minuses to having one?
My reasoning for considering it is to have a simple way to get the bike of the kickstand when doing maintenance.
Any input is appreciated.

A centre stand is great for doing routine maintenance/cleaning, both at the front and rear of the bike. Makes working on the bike a breeze and is nice and secure as well.

I also like the idea of a center stand but my bike does not have one equipped. How can i tell if i have the mounting points for it?

Basically just take a look on the bottom of the frame near the side stand. If it is equipped you will see the empty mounting points

Had to take mine away to make room for the Y-joint for the double mufflers... But I have stands for both front and rear so not a big matter for me... Someone would probly come and claim it`s an unnecessary weight addition but seriously we`re talking about daily riders not trying to shed .10:s from our lap times right? Before I bought the stands I had it and used it frequently (although I have an F2, still have the stand but I`d reckon you`d get one for cheaper from the US than if I`d send it to you for free.)

You`re gonna need the stand, the axel, the spring and the roughly U shaped thing that connects the spring to the frame. And a split pin to secure the axel in place.

They are brilliant I wish I kept mine, only took it off because the PO bent it low siding into the back of a car, it was super handy to have though.
