Default Center Lower fairing

What do you guys think? Do I need this piece or not? i've been redoing my bike and i've got cheetah street lowers and i've got stock uppers. I planned on using the three pieces that attach in the uppers but i'm not sure if I need this panel. those lowers have a tab that slides over the other side and you bolt it together. I just don't want to see my New body go nuclear when I get passed by a Semi.

best of all the piece was off my bike over the winter and my parents in their vast wisdom tossed it when they cleaned out the garage.

i think it is there just to help keep crap from fly off your tire into your header. it also gives triangular support to the bottom of the fairings. but with as many mounts the F3 has you probably don't need it.

thats what i was thinking, i'm thinking i'll make some kind of small acrylic support with a few more bolts to join both sides.

I would mount it. My friend rides a hurricane 600 and he desided to just wire tire it in the middle.(everything else was mounted witht he bolts) And onthe highway both lower fairing flew off. It could have been just bad luck...but i'd leave it on.

I took mine off last year and haven't had any problems yet. My lowers are also tied together my a zip-tie and I haven't seen any fracture cracks starting from where I drilled...yet! I'd say keep it off, you'll just have to become acustom to the claning noise of stones hitting your headers in gravel.
