Default Can someone please confirm this? so confused...

I have a '96 F3.

When I removed the tank, in the "off" position, I had a tad bit of fuel dripping out.

when in the "ON" or "Reserve" position, Fuel will flow out like a water tap.

Is this correct? is it only on F2's which is should NOT have any gas come out on ANY position?

My -97 does that as well, albeit it does not leak if it's exactly in "off".
A micrometer off the "off", and it drips.

Yes...same with mine. A micrometer off, and it will drip.

Ok.. thanks for confirming. I was getting so confused with all the info from the search results.

I guess this is because we have a fuel pump? where the F2 does not havea fuel pump?

i may be incorrect but i thought it was supposed to be a vacuum system, so there shouldn't be any fuel coming out without the pump running, again i may just be talking out my a$$ but i thought that is what i read on here not to long ago

The F2's used a vacuum to operate the opening of the petcock. On the F3, they switched to a manual one. If you open it and there is fuel in the tank, it flows like a garden hose.

My '95 doesn't drip at all at "off" but my buddy's '98 SJ sure does, unless you're EXACTLY at off, and even then it drips..

Thanks guy...
I'm going to assume my '96 is OK.

When bang on "off" it hardly (if at all) drips. Any other setting and .. yes.. pours like a garden hose.

Many thanks!
