Good choice. It's a serious sport bike, but the throttle and brakes aren't as high-strung as current models.
And most important, you didn't pay too much for it, so you won't be as broken-hearted if/when you drop it as you would with a brand new, $9 or $10,000 bike.
Now gear up and stay safe. Dirtbike riding is great for learning bike control, but cars and pedestrians are a lot less predictable than rocks and tree stumps, so you really need to be aware of traffic.
