ok so now i know that the back end of a 97-98 fairing kit will not work on a 96 cbr f3 600. now i need to know if there is any other problems. does everything esle line up right from one year to the next on the f3?? and if so then could i just buy the 97-98 fairing kit and just paint and use the old tail fairings and seat??

 

someone please correct me if i am wrong but a 97/98 tail will fit on the f2 and 95/96 f3 . the only difference is the tail light and maybe the undertray ?

 

tail light is the only difference in fairings. The seat is slightly different in the 95/96 f3's vs. the 97/98's. It is still useable though. In the front part of the seat near the tank, it does not go down as much on the older f3's. Still looks allright though. If i were you, id get a 97/98 tail light for $20 and use the old seat. The newer f3 tails make the rear of the bike look soooo much better, imo.

 

first i have to say that this has been so much more help thani expected. that being said i went to a friends house to check out his 98 cbrf3 just to see his parts and how things would look if i baught the new fairing kits. when i showed up and looked at it he told me he wanted to get rid of it but he was in no hurry. he is asking $2200 i know i can get it for less. what i would like to know is it worth buying because it is in about the same shape as my 96. i would still have to buy a new fairing kit for it.
