Default Bought a 95 F3 today.

Got it for $2300. This is my first bike. Seems to run pretty good. I'll try attaching some pics....

2 questions to start things off...

1. Whats the little round silver thing on the front right of the bike, inside the air hole? Looks like some sort of tiny intake for something. Its in one of the pics.

2. The rear brake lever is bent from a lay down. I friend seems to think if I heat it, I should be able to bend it back without breaking it. Sounds good to me, what does everyone here think?

They are called air vent pipes and should be a total of two , one on each side.Do not spray water directly into the air vent pipes or air intake because both could allow water into the air cleaner then carbs. That is a nice bike, how many miles? That is a crazy looking way to tie down your bike, did it shift around in the back of your truck? Good luck and try to get use to your bike before you get crazy on itbecause F3's hallass with the best of them.

it was rainin bad when I picked it up so I did a quick strap job to hold it down. Also doesnt help that I have limited anchor points in the truck because of the tonneau cover frame. I just drove home slow, it shifted a little, but not much.

It's stopped raining since this morning and now its in the truck much better, straps to each side of the triple tree.

its has 30,000 on it. Sounds like I might be putting a MCCT on it soon.

One more question, to make sure I have it right. The fuel selector valve isnt marked anymore. I assume pointing up is ON, pointing forward is OFF, and pointing down is RES ??

you are correcty about the fuel selector. Are you sure you bought a 95? The reason I "m asking, you have a 97, 98 tail section on it. It is possible that the previous owner did an upgrade. The bike looks great! Ride it like you stole it!

Man you need to adjust your forks, one is sitting an inch higher in the trees than the other, or at least it looks that way in the pics. http://www.scrufdog.com/bike/P1000093.JPG

Nice bike mang, and have fun with it.

Oh, Reserve is pointing up, Off to the side, and ON is pointing Down.

dont know about the tail. It's been chopped, thats all I can tell. The previous owner bought it as is from the 1st guy.

The forks are sticking out even from the triple tree. Guess its just the picture. However I will be raising them back up to stock position. Gonna take a good look and the rear suspension and see if its been lowered too. I'm 6'3" 250 pounds, so taking it back up to stock height is a good thing.

by chopped I meant that it had the blinker stuff cut off of it, there are cut marks there. Not sure about the strobes, they arent hooked up, the wires are zip tied to the frame under the seat. They look purple or blacklight.

If you go back to the scrufdog.com/bike link take a look at pictures 97-100. Is that red square steel in there a lowering link? I'm kinda wondering since the front was lowered.

And anyone opinions on bending that brake lever back, like I asked in the first post?

yeah, upon looking at some pics I'd say it is a 97-98 tail. The bike is a 95 for sure, its stamped on the frame. I wonder if the fairings are different as well.....because the fuel selector valve isnt centered very well in the hole for it, about 3/4" off I'd say, off the top of my head.
