Default Bike won't start... bought new battery and it seems like it died already

Hey guys I have a 1996 cbr 600. I bought it and it seemed like the battery was dead since it would turn off but I got a new battery and today It had a little trouble turning on and then it didn't turn on at all. The lights turn on but they're really dim, since the battery was new I'm wondering If there might be a part of the bike that might be messing with the new battery that I might need to replace.

Thank You and I hope anybody has had this problem and fixed it
Cheers

Do you have a voltagemeter? Check voltage on batt cables, probably need to clip them. Back a bit.

The Honda F3's are notorious for having the R/R (regulator/rectifier) go bad. That's was keeps the battery charged. It's on the right side of the bikes frame below the seat. It usually starts with overheating caused by bad connections. Many of us have replaced the factory one with one off a GSX/R. Do a search in this section, there are plenty of threads related to it. Less likely is the stator, but that's more rare. Put a volt meter on your battery, start the bike and rev to 3k or 4k RPM's. If you're not getting 14v to 14.5v, then most likely the R/R.

Im having the same problem with my bike. I had to leave it on the street at my job, so i pulled the battery out and walked across san francisco. Now tomorrow after work i have to get a new battery and then take it downtown to put it in. i just need to get it home then i can diagnose it. If its the rectifier then that should be a pretty quick fix. I have a feeling this battery is the same stock one though btw. In my case. Lemme know where you get your R/R so i can get one too as a precautionary step.

Thanx for the help guys. I let the bike rest and today morning tried again... at least it had a little bit of juice. I tried turning it on and I hear a clicking kinda rattle sound coming from the left side of the bike. Near the fuel line control thingy... then after a few tries of turning it on the juice completely goes out. I'm sure If I go back in half an hour the same thing will happen, so I guess the battery is recharging even if it's a little.
